Due to continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Design / CAD engineer in our design team. We make one-off
doorsets for specific customers; consequently our small team is always under
pressure to produce lots of interesting designs and solve engineering problems.
Typically, our designers will see a project all the way through, from initial concept to
installation. Supporting our sales team, you will help to sell doors by providing
elegant technical solutions. Once an order has been won and designs have customer
approval, you will produce production drawings or models in AutoCAD and
Solidworks. You will monitor the project on the shop floor, providing technical support
to the production team if required. At times you will be hands-on; investigating
problems, finding solutions or revising parts quickly.
Though we like to make doorsets in steel and glass, other materials and products do
feature. If you have prior experience of sheet metal that is an advantage, but training
will be given. If you have experience in programming, electrical control or electronics,
that is also an advantage.
As normal, salary is dependent on experience and ability. We enjoy nice working
conditions here, though our rural location five miles from Lincoln means that own
transport is essential.
